Concrete and puddles mirroring the lights
Of buildings glorious and mighty tall.
The moving metal honks, the people stall
In walking, numerous in average sight.
The branding blinks above the stores at night,
When foggy mists peek over stony walls
And rapture lovers new in wonder’s fall.
Outshimmered are the stars with shine below
That wards away the rats who seek to kill
And rob the innocence of seeds they sow.
Such is the manner, way, and steady will
Of life within the heightened. Those who know
Repeat the mantra, “Love lays rest here still.”
