The Time I Ventured Into An Abandoned Hospital

His eyes lay longing gaze upon the crowd

That buries pain for pleasure feigned aloud.

The world’s without a creak of color’s coat

So seen by his eyes, observing mankind

And their own rhythm, natural in note.

The sins replace the purer of our actions,

And thoughtful ones become the thoughtless fools

That covet cures for colorful abstractions

So turned to dull as they move as if tools.

Reflection’s feeling suppurates the heart

While negativity is of the bind

That can constrict what truth may yearn to start.

I am a watcher of all that may allieve

The suff’ring soul’s bitterness unrelieved.
